Box Truck Hits Tree and Causes Serious Damage to Garage at International Village, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:10 p.m. Sunday to a box truck crash into a tree and parking garage at International Village apartment complex in the 1100 block of East Algonquin Road. No serious injuries and no entrapment reported. The box truck hit a tree and the tree fell onto a roof and brought the roof down.

Schaumburg Building Department is responding to the scene to check on structural damage and stability issues.

  1. That is not a correct portrayal. The truck hit the garage first and the truck was then stopped by the tree. The tree didn’t fall and isn’t going to fall. The structural damage to the garage was done by the truck, since it’s stuck under it. In fact they still haven’t removed the truck because they didn’t want drag it out right away until they figured out what to do to prop up the garage after removing the truck.
