Strongarm Robbery Near Briarwood Dr and Algonquin Rd

Mount Prospect police alerted area police departments about 1:30 a.m. Sunday of a strongarm robbery 2800 Briarwood Drive East in the area of Briarwood Drive and Algonquin Road.

The crime is reported to have occurred about 1:00 a.m. Sunday. Police received a report that five offenders — three males and two females — jumped a victim as he got out of a taxi cab.

Mount Prospect police received a report just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday of the strongarm robbery. The victim’s wallet and cellphone were reported stolen. The offenders pulled the victims shirt over his head during the attack. The offenders ran in an unknown direction after the attack. Police learned about 1:40 a.m that the crime occurred in the Cinnamon Cove apartment complex at near Hatherleigh and Algonquin and Dempster and Algonquin Road in Mount Prospect — east of Lake Briarwood.
