House Fire on Seneca Lane, Possible Problem with Electric Feed

#ad▼

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:50 a.m. Friday to a house fire in the 1900 block of Seneca Lane. Police and firefighters received a report that there was a fire in a dryer in the basement. Firefighters arrived and discovered smoke showing from the house.

After quick investigation, firefighters reported a problem with the electric feed into the house. The firefighters upgraded the call to a “working house fire” which activated mutual aid from neighboring communities. ComEd was also requested to expedite to the scene.

About 3:20 a.m. firefighters reported they were able to get the fire out despite the electric hazard. Just before 3:30 a.m. ComEd reported they had an estimated time of arrival of about 15 minutes.

Fire Departments from Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, and Prospect Heights assisted Mount Prospect Fire Department.
