Arlington Heights police responded about 3:30 p.m. Saturday to a report that an IDOC parolee escaped from the hospital. Police searched the area, including a residence on North Salem Avenue, which was expected to be a possible hideout.

Police questioned residents at the location, but did not find the escaped parolee. However, they did find a person in possession of heroin at the location. A male was arrested and transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.

No word if the escaped parolee was apprehended.
