3 Arrested at Best Buy After Fraudulent Activity with Credit Card Reported

One of three female subjects in custody at Best Buy after a report of the use of stolen credit card was suspected, and possible other fraudulent activity was investigated.

Arlington Heights police responded about 4:00 p.m. Sunday to a report of fraudulent activity with a credit card and gift cards at Best Buy, 615 East Palatine Road.


Police received a report that a female subject was attempting to purchase gift cards with a stolen credit card. The female allegedly gave gift cards to two other female subjects who were attempting to use the gift cards while police were responding. All the subjects were described as female/black suspects — at least one was described as “in her 30’s.”

One female walked to the Burger King east of Best Buy. At least three female subjects were arrested and in custody by 4:20 p.m. A fourth suspect was also possibly involved, but this is not confirmed.

Police transported at least three suspects in custody — and possibly a fourth (not confirmed).

Arlington Heights police are investigating stolen credit card activity, theft, larceny and identity theft.
