Two Arrested Following ‘Burglary in Progress’ Report on East Algonquin

Arlington Heights police responded just before 5:10 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of East Algonquin Road to a report of gang members breaking into an apartment. Police received a report that a male/Hispanic in a gray jacket and white shirt climbed through a window of an apartment at the address. A second subject with no description available also entered the apartment unit while the resident was not home. A third subject, described as a male/black wearing a blue jacket, was talking on a cell phone and was suspected to be a lookout.

Police had two suspects on the ground at gunpoint within seven minutes of the call for help. A third suspect was possibly at large.

A police K-9 unit and an evidence technician were called to the scene.

Two suspects were transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
