Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:15 p.m. Saturday to a car fire in a parking lot of an auto body shop at Algonquin Road and Meadowbrook. Police received a report that the fire was possibly the result of arson.

At least one witness saw a man climb the fence with gas cans, and then heard two large booms and saw white smoke. Later flames were reported.

The subject with the gas cans was described as a male/white, 5’8″ with a crew cut, wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and a gray hoodie sweatshirt and sunglasses. He fled the area and was last seen on foot heading toward the Enterprise car rental business. The subject may have fled in a dark blue Hyundai.
