Palatine Fire Rescue Requires a Hike in the Deer Grove Forest Preserve

Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:20 p.m. Sunday to a call for help for a female with a possible broken ankle in the Deer Grove Forest Preserved near Dundee and Northwest Highway. Firefighters possibly used a Stokes basket and/or gurney to transport the victim after traveling a considerable distance on foot into the forest preserve to meet the victim.

Barrington police assisted Palatine firefighter/paramedics.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.
