Arlington Heights police and firefighters responded about 5:15pm Friday to a fully involved van fire on Lake Cook Road between Wilke Road and Schaeffer Road.
Police and firefighters arrived to find a fully involved van fire with the driver escaped from the vehicle and not injured. Heavy smoke was visible to commuters in the area.
Long traffic delays and heavy congestion were reported during the Friday night rush near the scene.
