Arlington Heights police received a request for help from the Illinois State Police District 15 just before 6:10 a.m. Sunday for a hit-and-run driver case. State police had a unit en route to an apartment unit at the Sanctuary Apartment in the 2230 South Arlington Heights Road where a victim followed a hit-and-run driver from a crash that occurred on Interstate 90. The victim followed the offending vehicle to the parking lot of the Sanctuary Apartment and blocked the offending vehicle in it parking space.

The victim driver reported that the offending driver ran from the vehicle and was apparently intoxicated. The offender was described a male/white in his late 20’s, 6’0″ with short dark hair, wearing tan shorts and a checkered shirt. He ran westbound from his offending vehicle, which was described as a red 2000 Mazda CV.

Illinois State Police possibly arrested the hit-and-run suspect at his apartment, but the arrest is not confirmed.
