Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a three-vehicle crash at Euclid Avenue and Douglas Avenue. A woman in a silver Volkswagen Touareg was injured and transported to Northwest Community Hospital. Both airbags were deployed and the vehicle had extensive front-end damage.

The crash involved the silver Volkswagen Touareg (a mid-size crossover SUV), a red Pontiac Vibe, and a white mini-van.

A witness that lives on Douglas Avenue said that the red Pontiac Vibe driver was crossing Euclid Avenue northbound on Douglas Avenue and was hit on the passenger side by the silver Volkswagen Touaraeg, which was westbound on Euclid Avenue. The Vibe then squeezed through the curb side of the southbound lane of Douglas and sideswiped a southbound white mini-van that was waiting at a stop sign. At least two witnesses said the Touareg driver appeared to be westbound on Euclid Avenue “at a pretty good speed.”
