Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded just before 5:10 AM Tuesday to a report of a house fire in the 200 block of West Tanglewood Drive. Police and firefighters received a report of a fire in a bedroom. Police arrived within two minutes and reported flames showing from a second floor window.

A fire extinguisher was used to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived. Unknown at this time if it was a police fire extinguisher or the resident’s fire extinguisher.

Extra police units arrived on the scene and helped evacuate the residents.

Firefighters cleared the smoke in the second floor with a ventilating fan and checked the house for fire damage and fire extension. Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics assisted Arlington Heights Fire Department.
