Campton Hills police received a report about 8:30 a.m. Monday of a coyote attack of a 5-year-old Yorkshire terrier/poodle mix in the 3N800 block of Ralph Waldo Emerson Lane in the Fox Mill subdivision.
After letting the dog out in the yard, the family found the dog mangled and dragged into a conservation area near the residence. The dog was rushed to a Emergency Veterinary Services of St. Charles. The dog was treated with surgery for a collapsed lung, rib cage injury and 20 puncture wounds.
