Arlington Heights Police Arrest at Palatine Rd and Rand Rd: Tase Hit & Run Driver from Elk Grove Crash

Elk Grove Village police alerted Arlington Heights police just before 9:00 PM Saturday to a report of a hit-and-run crash at Arlington Heights Road and Higgins Road in Elk Grove VIllage. The offending vehicle was described as a 2009 black Chevy Silverado with a license place 3333 XB. An alert Arlington Heights police officer discovered the vehicle northbound on Arlington Heights Road near Grove. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver of the black Silverado pickup truck did not stop — passing Miner and not stopping with police lights activated … passing Euclid with lights and sirens and not stopping with a slow pursuit of about 30 mph.

The driver stopped at Lillian and Arlington Heights Road, and then started up again northbound Arlington Heights Road. The driver turned right on Palatine Road and was stopped at Palatine Road and Rand Road.

The driver was uncooperative at the traffic stop and was tased. Paramedics were immediately called and a police supervisor was called to the scene.

The driver at first impression was impaired, possibly intoxicated, and was transported to Northwest Community Hospital. He was conscious and appeared reasonably comfortable on the gurney en route to the ambulance.

The driver’s Chevy Silverado was towed to Hillside Towing. Elk Grove Village police arrived at Hillside for investigation of the vehicle. Arlington Heights police and Elk Grove Village police are investigating their cases.
