Rahway Fire Department responded about 1:30 a.m. ET to a large fire involving several units of a four-story condominium unit just east of the intersection of St. Georges Avenue and Stone Street.

The fire was too dangerous to attack from the interior, so firefighters’ major concern early was to prevent the fire from igniting exposed structures nearby — defensive mode firefighting.

Firefighting operations were ongoing at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
