Snow expected to start between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Tuesday in Arlington Heights. Snow is already just to the west on radar, but it is not expected to start snowing at ground level until later. Forecasters predict 2-4 inches for our area with 3-5 inches south (total by Tuesday late night). There is a slight chance of lake effect snow for northeast Illinois, but the significant lake effect snow will be in northwest Indiana. Tuesday: Snow. High near 28. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 18. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
