Mail Box Hit-and-Run on Oakton Street, Possible DUI

Arlington Heights police responded about 1:30 PM Friday to a report of criminal damage to property, hit-and-run and possible DUI driver in the 1900 block of East Thomas Street. Police received a report that a driver in a dark sedan, possibly DUI, hit a mail box in the 1900 block of East Oakton Street in Arlington Heights.

The offending vehicle was described as a dark, older Pontiac with blacked-out windows.

Police checked the area and did not see the vehicle, but did discover the damaged mail box, which was located at an address in the jurisdiction of Prospect Heights.

Prospect Heights responded to take report on the criminal damage to property.
