Burglary to Vehicle: Groceries Stolen from Car at Stonebridge Apartments

Arlington Heights police responded about 7:20 AM Friday to a report of a burglary to vehicle at Stonebridge Apartments in the 800 block of West Rand Road. Police received a report that a male subject approached a female and asked if she owned a particular vehicle. The vehicle, a silver Intrigue, was burglarized with the windows smashed and belongings scattered near the car.

A bag of groceries was stolen from the vehicle. Also a male was observed carrying a bag of groceries in the vicinity and same time frame. The man possibly walked to a dark blue Volkswagen Jetta.

The male was described as 5’7” with a medium build; dark, thin hair; a dark jacket, jeans and glasses.

In summary, it was determined three vehicles were burglarized. A GPS was stolen from a blue Nissan Sentra. Two other vehicles were ransacked and searched — a Toyota Highlander and silver Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Arlington Heights police are investigating.
