Arlington Heights police responded about 4:00 PM Saturday to a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of South Ridge Avenue. Police received at least two reports of a suspicious male coming to the front door of a residence and trying to gain access to a home.

At one home the man told the resident that there was a water main break and that he needed to get inside the house.

Neither resident allowed the man into their house. The first report came about 4:10 p.m. from the 200 block of East Brittany.

The man was described as a male/Hispanic, about 50-years-old, driving a black van or SUV (Ford Explorer). The vehicle was last seen headed southbound on Ridge Avenue. Arlington Heights police are investigating. No word on any arrest or police contact with the offender. No confirmation whether the man reported from each case was believed to be the same man.
