Retail Theft Suspect from Garden Fresh Caught at Home

Arlington Heights police responded about 12:40 PM Sunday to a report of a shoplifter detained in the parking lot at Garden Fresh near Palatine Road and Rand Road. The offender was driving a silver Toyota Corolla. He was described as a male/white in his 40’s, 5’9” and wearing a blue jacket. He got away from security and dumped the merchandise, and was last seen in the vehicle fleeing northbound — possibly on Pinetree Drive just north of Palatine Road.

The security personnel got a license plate and forwarded the information to Arlington Heights police, who waited at the suspect’s house.

the man stole and released some type of canned products. Store personnel decided not to press charges, but warned had the police warn the man not to return to the store or he would be charged with trespassing.
