DUI Driver Takes Out Fire Hydrant at Euclid Avenue and Rolling Lane

Arlington Heights police responded just after 12:00 AM Sunday to a report of a car vs. pole at the intersection of Rand and Waterman. About ten minutes later the police discovered the crash was at Euclid Avenue and Rolling Lane. The vehicle hit a fire hydrant and snapped it low in the ground, causing a flood of water. The water was flooding and freezing at Euclid Avenue and Rolling Lane No injuries were reported. The driver was arrested for DUI and transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area.
