Crash with Victim Trapped, Rescued at Route 22 and Old McHenry Rd, Long Grove

Long Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:20 PM Monday of an auto accident with injuries and entrapment at the intersection of Route 22 (Half Day Road) and Old McHenry Road. Buffalo Grove Fire Department firefighter/paramedics, Countryside Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics and Lake Zurich firefighter/paramedics assisted Long Grove firefighter/paramedics for a three-car crash involving an SUV, conversion van and a minivan.

Four rescue-ambulances responded to the scene. Five injured victims were rescued at the scene, with one victim reported with life-threatening injuries.

All victims were rescued from the vehicles just by 12:35 p.m. Route 22 was closed during accident scene management and investigation, and was re-opened about 2:00 p.m.

Lake County Sheriff managed the traffic scene and investigation.
