Chicago-Arlington Heights Snowfall: New: 1.0 Inch, Snow Cover 3.0 Inch

A total of .75 inches of new snow fell from Saturday about 9:30 p.m. through about 10:30 p.m. in Arlington Heights. Snow was crunchy and fine. Another .25 inches of snow fell between about 6:00 a.m. Sunday to just before 8:00 a.m. The wind kicked up to about 20 mph and switched to the North at about 6:45 a.m. Snow cover at 8:15 a.m. Sunday was 3.0 inches in Arlington Heights — showing settling and melting since the last snow system. Accumulation on pavement was also 1.0 inches of new snow.

High winds have apparently already caused a power outage. Numerous traffic lights were reported out at Arlington Heights Road and White Oak, Golf Road and Arlington Heights Road, Central Road and Kirchhoff Road, Central and Fernandez Avenue. Police also reported power out along Golf Road. Com Ed reports 785 customers without power on the south side of Arlington Heights. The power was not expected to be repaired before 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
