Man Dies After Jumping Out of West Side of Soldier Field Stadium During Bears-Eagles Game

A man in his 20s, who witnesses say jumped off of a ledge, died this afternoon after he fell out of the Soldier Field stadium and landed on a roof-top on the west side of the stadium.

The incident happened at about 4:55 p.m. Sunday as the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles were playing a regular season NFL football game.

The man was transported with life-threatening injuries to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 5:24 p.m. Witnesses told emergency personnel that they saw the man run up to a ledge and jump.

Chicago police are conducting a death investigation, including statements from witnesses that report they saw the man run up to a ledge and jump out of the stadium.
