Head-on Crash with Trapped Victim at Rand Road and Hintz: Landscaping Truck vs. Car

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded just after 4:10 PM Wednesday to a head-on crash with entrapment at the intersection of Rand Road and Hintz Road. Police arrived first to find a Chevrolet 3500 landscaping truck and a Chevrolet Malibu in a head-on crash at Rand Road and Hintz Road. One man was trapped with a leg injury, and was extricated by firefighter/paramedics. Arlington Heights and Palatine fire departments sent rescue ambulances to the scene.

At least one patient transported to a local hospital. Unknown if a second victim was transported. Palatine Fire Department and Buffalo Grove Fire Deaprtment assisted Arlington Heights Fire Department.

Rand Road northbound was shut down, and westbound Hintz was shut down at Kennicott. The area was cleared by about 4:55 p.m. Wednesday. There were a high number of minor crashes reported today.
