Another Deer in Roadway in Buffalo Grove, Near Lake Cook and Milwaukee

#ad▼

Buffalo Grove police responded about 7:00 a.m. Saturday to a report of a deer dead in the roadway near Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue. The deer was possibly hit by a vehicle. The incident marks the second consecutive day that a roadway incident occurred involving a deer in Buffalo Grove.

The current time period could mark about the middle of breeding season for deer. The phenomenon known as “the rut” is the period when deer breed. The period is typically late fall to early winter — about the end of October to the beginning of January. Bucks are less aware of their surroundings in focusing on the search of a doe.
