A Rowdy Black Wednesday Night in Palatine

Palatine police were busy Black Wednesday night near Durty Nellies and the train station. Police received a call each in two separate cases at Durty Nellies, 180 North Smith Street, with complaints about treatment by bouncers. One male claimed he was assaulted by a bouncer at about 1:50 a.m. Thursday. A second male complained about 4:05 a.m. Thursday that he was tackled and then kicked out of the bar. He was waiting outside to talk to police. No known arrests on these two cases.

Also, just after 4:00 a.m. police received a report of a fight at the Metra train station, 137 W Wood St, near an alley. The three subjects fighting were last seen near Emmett’s, but they were gone when police arrived.

Also at the Metra station in downtown Palatine, police were called to the scene about 12:30 a.m. Thursday to meet about 15 intoxicated teens on a train car that were being removed from the train upon arrival at the Palatine train station. No word on any arrests.


Palatine police also responded to a report of retail theft at the Walgreens, 375 East Dundee Road. A male/black offender stole two 12-packs of beer and fled in a black van southbound on Hicks Road. No word on any police contact with the suspect.


Wednesday’s entertainment was ‘Rod Tuffcurls & The Bench Press’ billed as opening a crazy night with ‘Wedding Banned.’
