DeKalb County Major Case Squad Activated In Search for Missing NIU Student Antinette ‘Toni’ Keller

MISSING: Antinette J. Keller

UPDATE: 3:00 PM October 26, 2010: Charred remains found in Prairie Park near personal items that are consistent with items Antinette ‘Toni’ Keller were known to have in her possession.

The DeKalb County Major Case Squad, consisting of officials with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, NIU police, DeKalb and Sycamore, has been activated to coordinate search efforts that extend beyond the Northern Illinois University campus.

Dive teams searched the Kishwaukee River Thursday near a somewhat secluded Prairie Park in south DeKalb to rule out any chance that Tori Keller may been in the water. There was no specific finding indicating that Tori was in the water, except a possible positive scent detected by K-9 at the park.

Antinette Keller, or Toni to friends and family, is a white female, 5′ 6″ and 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. She lives in Neptune North residence hall on the NIU campus.

Toni was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray jacket and scarf. She has a tattoo of a sunflower on her upper right chest and her nose is pierced. She is believed to be carrying a professional camera and an art portfolio.

Toni Keller graduated from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville is majoring in art at NIU. The high school serves students from Aurora, Bolingbrook and Naperville.
