Burglary to Vehicle in Progress on West Rand Behind Stonebridge Apartments

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:00 a.m. Tuesday of a burglary to vehicle in progress in the 700 and 600 block of West Rand Road. A witness saw at least three offenders. One of the vehicles entered was left with its door open. One offender was reported to be wearing a red hoodie, 5’6″ with a slim build. A second subject was reported to be wearing a black hoodie, 5’6 to 5’8″ with a slim build. No description was available for a third subject.

An Arlington Heights K-9 unit was brought to the scene to pick up the scent of the direction of travel of the fleeing suspects. An evidence technician also responded to the scene.

No word on any arrests. On September 4, 2010, police arrested a suspect in front of a house in the 2400 block of North Chestnut Avenue after a similar burglary-in-progress report about 12:15 a.m.
