Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:30 a.m. Saturday of theft of a purse from an unlocked car at 1780 West Algonquin Road. At first the offenders fled westbound.

The offenders are described as two male/Hispanics, 15-16 years-old, one wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt, and one wearing a yellow T-shirt. The offenders were last seen walking toward Panera Bread, then behind Panera. The victim followed the offenders, and the offenders eventually threw the purse to the ground. About that time, a heavy rain hit the area.

The offenders fled the area, but a tenacious victim sighted the offenders again at McDonald’s on Algonquin Road and reported them to be walking near the 5/3 Bank and into Country Buffet. Arlington Heights police responded back to the area and had two suspects in custody just before 11:20 a.m.
