ALL CLEAR: No Grenade Found in Midtown Downtown Atlanta, Where 31-Story Building Evacuated

Initial report of a grenade found and possible bomb threat has prompted the evacuation of the Peachtree Summit Federal Building, 401 W Peachtree Street, Atlanta. The entire 31-story building was evacuated before 1:00 pm. ET. There are IRS offices and other federal agency offices housed in the building.

An x-ray of a suspicious package found no grenade. An ALL CLEAR has been given for the downtown Atlanta federal building. Occupants are allowed to re-enter the federal building.

Occupants of the building had gathered in nearby parking lots.
