Arlington Heights Police Assist Cook County Sheriff Deputies on Nichols After Man Pulled Knife on Paramedics

Cook County Sheriff Police requested assistance from Arlington Heights Police Department about 4:25 p.m. Friday for a report of a disturbance with a man pulling a knife on paramedics at an apartment in the 3900 block of West Nichols Road. Paramedics left the scene when the knife was displayed. Cook County Sheriff’s deputies requested extra backup from Arlington Heights as they responded to the scene.

The paramedics from Long Grove Fire Protection District staged nearby until police arrived. Arlington Heights police announced the scene was secure, and Long Grove paramedics returned to the scene to meet with the person that was requesting medical assistance. A Polish translator was utilized at the scene via telephone.

Unknown if there were any arrests, but the offender at one point was reported still on the scene.
