Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics and police officers responded about 5:40 p.m. Thursday to a report of a teen hit by a car on Buffalo Grove Road near Standford on the S-curve, just north of Hintz Road. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes at the Brook Run entrance. Police immediately blocked the northbound lanes south of the accident scene.

Extra paramedics went with the ambulance to the hospital, which indicates the patient — a 13 or 14-year-old male — was in serious condition. A witness at the scene reported that the accident involved a car and a bike. The witness also reported ‘he saw a kid down’ with a ‘lot of blood.’

Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics were also called to the scene, but they did not transport anyone to the hospital.

The northbound lanes of Buffalo Grove were opened about 7:00 p.m. Arlington Heights police are investigating.
