Taxi Cab Passenger Attempts Robbery at Arlington Auto Care, Arlington Heights Rd

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday of an attempted robbery and battery by a passenger in an All-Star Cab at the Arlington Auto Care service center in the 1900 block of South Arlington Heights Road. The offender was a male/white who had the cab flee eastbound on Golf Road from Arlington Heights Road. The offender was described as a male/white, about 30 years-old, 5′ 11″ 200 LBS with a tattoo on the back of his neck. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie (possibly dark gray), and tan shorts. The offender was last seen eastbound from the back of Walgreens entering an All-Star Cab Crown Victoria vehicle.

The cab stopped at XSPORT FITNESS on Golf Road, but the offender ran from the vehicle and fled southbound Goebbert Road. The suspect was captured, arrested and in custody at a Tanglewood Apartments unit by 5:20 p.m. Tuesday.
