Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded to report about 6:15 p.m. Thursday of a person stabbed in the 1600 block of Baldwin Road. Police found Eduardo Garcia stabbed. Paramedics transported Eduardo Garcia to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead about 7 p.m. Thursday.
A preliminary investigation by police discovered that Eduardo Garcia, 19, was stabbed in the 1900 block of Green Lane North, and then driven by friends to a location near Dundee Road and Baldwin when 9-1-1 was called.
Eduardo Garcia’s address is reported to be in the 4700 block of Arbor Drive, Rolling Meadows.
Palatine police and the Major Case Assistance Team are investigating the homicide. The Cook County state’s attorney’s office is not planning to file charges, because the 15-year-old male, who stabbed Garcia was severely beaten by Eduardo Garcia, and was apparently acting in self-defense. The conflict may have initiated over some type of argument about a girl.
