Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:10 p.m. Saturday of a hit-and-run crash on southbound Arlington Heights Road, just north or Lake Cook Road. The offending vehicle was described as a silver BMW last seen westbound on Lake Cook Road. A Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department deputy spotted the car turning into Bloomington Avenue. The driver parked the car and ran into an apartment in the 4200 block of North Bloomington. The crash was in Buffalo Grove jurisdiction, so Buffalo Grove police and Arlington Heights police attempted to meet the driver at his apartment. After several knocks on the door and no reply from the man in the apartment, Buffalo Grove police ordered a tow on the BMW. The offending vehicle was towed to a police holding area and the police left the area where the offender fled.

No injuries at the hit-and-run crash. The victim’s vehicle was a black Scion.
