Prospect Heights police were alerted to a possible bank burglary in progress — that a male was inside the Bank of America at Rand and Thomas Avenue about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Police surrounded the bank building and watched for a male inside. The male was visible walking around the inside of the bank. Backup was requested from Arlington Heights Police Department and Palatine Police Department’s K-9 unit. All exits were surrounded as the male exited the Bank of America. It was determined that the male was a technician working after hours. A NIPAS alert (SWAT TEAM) was activated, but was quickly de-activated. Information about the male subject was obtained for possible further investigation, and no arrests were made.
