Extra-Alarm Bloomingdale Fire Kills 2, Injures 4

Two people reported killed and at least 4 injured in a house fire reported in unincorporated Bloomingdale about 2:00 p.m. Monday. The fire was reported in a 1.5-story frame, with no fire hydrants in the area. Firefighters arrived to find the house well-involved with flames engulfing exterior walls and coming out of windows.

Multiple ambulances and multiple water tanker fire units (tenders) responded to the fire. The fire department units were relayed with long stretches of hose in an area east of Gary Avenue and Lawrence. The fire scene was reported near 24W630 Lawrence, Keeneyville.

Fire departments from Addison, Bartlett, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Glenside Fire Protection District, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, and Wood Dale assisted Bloomingdale Fire Department. The area is near Bloomingdale and Roselle — south of Schaumburg Regional Airport and south of US Route 20, which is known as Keeneyville in DuPage County.
