Armed Robbery Liquor Island on Hintz, Possibly Second Time Same Offender

Wheeling Police Department responded to report of an armed robbery at the Liquor Island Store, 1750 West Hintz Road in Wheeling just before 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. The offender is suspected to be the same offender that robbed the liquor store on November 10, 2009. The suspect was armed with a knife and was wearing a hood, mask and gloves. The offender went behind register counter, displayed the knife, and removed money from the cash register himself. After taking the money, the suspect said, “Slow night, huh?’ and left the liquor store.

The suspect’s race is unknown. He is described as about 5’7 to 5’10” 200 to 220 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a white, dirty T-Shirt with holes showing under a gray hoodie, dark-colored wool gloves, light blue pants.

The offender was armed with brown-handled four-inch folding knife. The suspect was last seen running northbound in the alley from the scene.
