SAT JAN 18 2009 — Arlington Heights received a report of a man possibly breaking into storage lockers in the common area of storage lockers for Mallard Cove Condominiums in Arlington Heights. A caller heard a “breaking” noise early Saturday morning. Later in the day, about 6:30 p.m. another caller reported that a storage locker was burglarized in the 1100 block of South New Wilke Road.
Arlington Heights Police received a report of a burglary in progress just before 11:00 p.m. Saturday. Two or three male blacks were involved in a break-in to an apartment in the 2200 block of South Goebbert. The suspects fled in a black Pontiac Sunfire minutes or seconds before the police arrived. Police were able to trace the suspects’ destination and whereabouts to a location in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Three hours later with the assistance of Bloomingdale Police and Glendale Heights police, at least one suspect was arrested in Glendale Heights related to the case of the burglary to the apartment in Arlington Heights.
A homeowner left his snow blower unattended less than 10 minutes Saturday morning about 10:30 a.m. When he returned to where he left his snowblower in the driveway, he saw three Hispanic males leaving with his snowblower in the back of a black pickup truck on Patton Avenue headed north toward Palatine Road.
Arlington Heights police arrived on the scene within minutes, but the black pickup truck was not sighted.
