A fire on the stove in a first floor apartment brought out lots of smoke throughout the hallway of a first floor condo/apartment style building at 70 South Buffalo Grove Road Thursday about 10:30 p.m. The heavy smoke made it difficult for police and firefighters to determine what kind of fire they had in the apartment. The fire was put out with a fire extinguisher and fire departments from Arlington Heights, Palatine Rural Protection District, Lincolnshire and Long Grove were turned around when Buffalo Grove firefighters determined the fire was from burnt food, and that no fire had spread to other parts of the apartment.
