Strong Arm Robbery of Bike Near Pioneer Park

A male offender approached a male victim at Pioneer Park and demanded that the victim turn over his bicycle just before 3 p.m. Sunday. The robbery suspect fled toward Park Street with a stolen black BMX Arrow SR3 —  identified as including a red lock.

The suspect was described with brown hair, wearing blue jeans and a black sweatshirt around his neck. Quick action by Arlington Heights police — with multiple police units responding to the area of Pioneer Park — resulted in the suspect being sighted by two police units. The suspect was immediately captured at Sigwalt and Vail. The suspect was accompanied by a female, who was taken into custody with the male suspect at the Arlington Heights Police jail.


Cars line the street for parking along Fernandez Avenue at the Pioneer Park pool with near record attendance, while a strong arm robbery of a bicycle occurred near the park.
