Police received a report that an Acura Integra had all four wheels removed with the rear wheels missing early Saturday morning (September 6, 2008) while parked at the village parking garage across from Dunton Tower.

Arlington Heights police have issued an alert that a significant increase in car burglaries occurred the first eight days of September.

Most of early September’s 19 car burglaries involved thieves breaking car windows and stealing purses or global positioning satellite units.

Three of the 19 vehicle burglaries occurred Monday at the Arlington Park Metra commuter station, 2121 W. Northwest Highway. Also on Monday, four cars were burglarized in the parking lot of Dana Pointe condominiums in the 1600 block of East Central Road. A van was burglarized near the intersection of Palatine Road and Windsor Monday late morning.

Residents and visitors of Arlington Heights are reminded to keep valuables out of their cars, or at least hidden from view; and report suspicious persons or vehicles near parked cars — especially people who appear to be checking for unlocked car doors.
