New snowfall at 8 a.m. is 1.5 inches. Nearly 12 inches of new snow is expected to fall in the northwest suburbs by the end of the day Wednesday. Heavy snow is expected to start at about 10 a.m. this morning.

Heavy gusts in northeast winds with snowfall have started at 7:47 a.m. Wednesday in Arlington Heights. According to radar and observations a strong wave of snow is over Arlington Heights at 8:10 a.m.
