UPDATE: Body found in Lyons is not Lisa Stebic and is not Stacy Peterson. The Chicago Police Department DID NOT find a blue barrel near the scene.

An environmental inspector from Lyons conducting tests at an industrial site Friday discovered unidentified frozen human remains in the 3400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, just south of the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. The inspector originally found a foot and leg near a blue garbage container.

The discovery has investigators working to rule out whether the decomposed remains — resembling a white female with light reddish blond hair — could be Stacy Peterson, who disappeared Oct. 28. Ex-Bolingbrook police sergeant Drew Peterson, 53, is a suspect, amid alleged reports that he removed a blue-plastic container from his home the night before his wife was reported missing.
