Wheeling Fire Department is managing a spill or leak from tanks at a
business at 440 Denniston south of Wheeling and Dundee Road.
Firefighters and hazmat technicians are being protected by hose streams
as they work. Local businesses and about 36 nearby homes have been
evacuated since the incident occurred a little after 8:00 pm. Thursday.

Paramedics and police officers from Arlington Heights responded to a
report of a young man hit by a stick in an attack Thursday afternoon.

A resident on South Beverly reported that a man solicited at the front
door of his home for painting work and when he was declined he became
belligerent and started yelling at the homeowner.
The solicitor left in a blue van with a ladder on the roof early
afternoon Thursday..

An Avis rental car was burglarized overnight at the Sheraton Hotel 3400
West Euclid Avenue in Arlington Heights. Thursday morning GPS device was
reported stolen from the car.

Sigwalt is closed Thursday all day between Ridge and Mitchell for a
sewer collapse. Arlington Heights Public Works crew are working to
repair the collapse Thursday.
