Apple, Inc. is building its seventh store in the Chicago area to join stores at Michigan Avenue, Woodfield Shopping Mall, Northbrook Court, Old Orchard in Skokie, Orland Square in Orland Park, and OakBrook Mall in Oak Brook.
The Apple Store is under construction adjacent to American Eagle Outfitters at Deer Park Town Center on Rand Road in Deer Park just west of Palatine, Illinois.
The latest Apple Store opened in Orland Square in July 2007.

Arlington Heights Public Works crews clear a tree from Beverly Avenue at Fairview in Scarsdale in Arlington Heights.

Tree branches brought down electric, cable and telephone lines at Hawthorne and Pine Avenue.
A thunderstorm suddenly ripped through Arlington Heights, the west suburbs, the northwest suburbs and the City of Chicago Thursday afternoon. Tornado warning sirens were activated at about 3:20 p.m. with little warning as the storm cell hit Arlington Heights at about 3:24 p.m., snapping trees at the trunks and uprooting others. Power outages occurred all along Arlington Heights Road, in the eastern part of downtown Arlington Heights and in the Scarsdale and Stonegate neighborhoods. Tree branches brought down phone lines and power lines in many neighborhoods. As of 9:30 p.m. many areas were still without power.

The Lincolnshire Fire Department called for an extra alarm response for
fire equipment and ambulances at the Depke Juvenile Justice Center at
24647 North Milwaukee Avenue in Vernon Hills. Some area fire departments
were unable to respond to the extra alarm because of responses to storm
incidents in their own towns. Other fire departments were able to fill
in.

Prospect and Des Plaines area. Power outages in Arlington Heights along
Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, Palatine and Mount Prospect.
