Cloverfield is the name or codename of a 2008 science fiction film produced by J.J. Abrams, directed by Matt Reeves, and written by Drew Goddard. First publicized in advance screenings of Transformers, the secret project is slated for a January 18, 2008 release.
A group of people at surprise going away party for ‘Rob’ witness a giant monster attack on New York City. The film will be shot entirely with hand held cameras, which invoke a more realistic feel. The monster has some hideous roar and apparently some explosive arsenal.
