Much of the car under the truck with a woman trapped requires time-saving helicopter airlift.

A 41-year-old Lockport woman was airlifted to Loyola Medical Center February 22, 2007 after her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2005 white box truck with Royal Corporation Royal-paper.com printed on the side of the box.

The accident occured at the corner of 159th Street and Parker Road in Homer Glen. The injured woman — stopped at a red light facing eastbound on 159th Street at about 8 a.m. — was rear-ended by a large box truck and pushed into the intersection where her Ford Thunderbird was hit by two more vehicles.

Homer Township Fire Protection District, Orland Fire, Mokena Fire and Will County Sheriff responded to this accident which required extrication operations that lasted about 45 minutes while the woman was concious, but in pain.
