A large brush fire near Route 53 and Golf Road, reported to be over 100 acres, is being fought by the following fire departments: Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Long Grove, Palatine, Palatine Rural, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, and Schaumburg. Long Grove is sending a tanker and a special brush truck. Fire reported just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Arlington Heights Fire Department sent an ambulance to assist Buffalo
Grove Fire Department at the 2900 block of Scottish Pine Court for a
fire on the second floor of a residence with some extension to the
attic. Fire departments from Barrington, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove,
Palatine Rural, and Rolling Meadows also assisted on this call about 1:00 a.m. early Sunday morning.

A police car versus school bus crash at Burr Oak and Arlington Heights Road blocked
Arlington Heights Road for over 30 minutes Wednesday morning just after
9:00 a.m. Southbound lanes were blocked for over 45 minutes during rush
hour. Buffalo Grove paramedics assisted Arlington Heights Fire
Department. A police car (northbound on Arlington Heights Road) hit the side of a school bus that pulled out in front of the police car and caused the crash. The police car engine compartment caught fire after the impact. The police officer was transported to Northwest Community Hospital; no students were on the bus.

Arlington Heights Fire Department sent an engine for a box alarm at 1801
Heather Leigh Court, near Dempster and Busse in Mount Prospect. The
alarm was dispatched about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The box was
struck out at about 12:30 p.m.

A 70-year old woman was airlifted by Flight for Life to Lutheran General Hospital about 3 p.m. Sunday and pronounced dead soon afterward after a minivan struck the driver’s side of her car in the intersection of Dunton Avenue and Euclid Avenue.
Arlington Heights Fire Department responded with three ambulances. One or more victims were entrapped and required rescue extrication. The intersection was closed for about two hours with the accident vehicles in place while police investigated the accident. The stoplight control device was also severly damaged.
The Flight for Life helicopter landed at an athletic field near Olympic Park Pool and met the Arlington Heights Fire Department ambulance with the patient from the accident scene.
